The Barton family's passion for wine is reflected in the elegance and consistency of Château Léoville Barton on this mythical terroir of Saint-Julien in the Médoc.
The château was built in 1758 by Monsieur de Pontet, and with after the French Revolution, Hugh Barton, an Irish wine merchant, fulfilled his dream of becoming a landowner by buying vineyards in the Médoc.
The 123 acres of Château Léoville Barton, planted in gravel soil on a clay subsoil, include a high proportion of old vines to obtain the best possible quality.
